For some stunning photographs that you will treasure for the rest of your life why not let me capture beautiful family portraits in the great outdoors. I advise getting outdoors once your little one is on the move and exploring the world around them. Children feel most at ease when they are running around exploring the outdoors in the company of their loved ones. So, that’s exactly what I aim to do, to capture some stunning portrait photographs in a location that your little ones will love. It’s important to me to spend some time getting to know your child/children so that they feel comfortable with me. This session will last around 45 minutes. I can do the session at a time to best suit your needs, however, the absolute best light of the day for stunning portraits is an hour or two before the sun goes down. This time will obviously change depending on the time of year but I will try to reflect this on my availability. If you have any questions about the best time to book your session, please contact me.
It would be best to use a location on your doorstep, such as Roundhay Park, Temple Newsam or Golden Acre Park all stunning locations with picturesque landscapes that will make the perfect backdrop for your family portraits.
Living in Yorkshire can make for some very unpredictable weather. While a little bit of rain can make for lots of fun for your little one to jump around in, it would not be expected for you to attend the session in a thunderstorm! Under the circumstances of severe weather, I will try my best to re-schedule your session for as soon as possible.
When choosing what to wear for the session, I would advise that everyone wears the same tones (e.g. navy blues/creams) so that the photographs keep a consistent theme. Please be wary of patterns and logs, as they can distract from the image. In the warmer weather, I would recommend jeans and a plain t-shirt for boys, and a simple dress for girls. To maintain a sense of simplicity I’d say go for a natural everyday look so that the portrait photographs capture you in your true light. However, in the more chilly weather, I’d suggest chunky knitwear, rain coats, hats, scarves and welly boots, which all work well.
How to book
This session should be booked as far in advance as possible. In order to secure your session, you will need to pay a £75 deposit which is refundable if you are not happy with your images. This will be deducted from your final balance.
I really understand how busy mummies and daddies are. For this reason, I offer you a choice when it comes to viewing your images. I can either come to your house to show you the images on my 27 inch HD iMac. This also gives me the opportunity to show you wall art and product samples and to decide what best suits your home. Alternatively, I can provide a private online gallery which will only stay live for 24 hours and within that time you must place your order.
It can take up to 14 days for me to edit the best of the images. I usually do this quicker when a viewing appointment is booked in at your home.
Your order can take 4-6 weeks to arrive back in my studio but once it has arrived, I will send you an email to arrange a collection time that suits you.
